Wendell Hill is an educator, investor, mentor, and longtime technical professional whose career has been built around disciplined decision-making, continuous learning, and helping others understand complex subjects in practical, understandable ways.

Before becoming deeply involved in financial education, Wendell spent more than four decades in the nuclear industry, working in an environment where preparation, procedures, attention to detail, risk management, and personal accountability are essential. Those principles became an important part of the philosophy he later brought to investing and trading education.

Today, Wendell serves as a lead instructor with Edgewater Education, working alongside Founder and CEO Earl Q. Davis to help individuals develop a practical understanding of investing, options, market behavior, and financial decision-making. His work focuses especially on Edgewater's Foundational Investing and Trading education, where students progress from basic market concepts and terminology to chart interpretation, risk management, options strategies, paper trading, and eventually independent decision-making.

Wendell's teaching philosophy emphasizes education before speculation. Rather than simply telling students what trade to make, he encourages them to understand why they are making it. His classes frequently return to a simple idea: students should be able to work through a decision "with your pencil and paper" before relying on technology to make the decision for them.

He teaches strategies including credit spreads, debit spreads, directional trades, Iron Condors, technical chart interpretation, moving averages, market indicators, trade management, and risk control, while emphasizing that no strategy replaces discipline and sound judgment.

A central theme of Wendell's approach is the transition from thinking merely like a trader to thinking like the CEO of one's own financial future. He encourages students to develop patience, consistency, accountability, and the confidence to make decisions based on evidence rather than emotion, headlines, or market noise.

His philosophy can be summarized by two principles that have become closely associated with his teaching:

"Give us one year, one day at a time."

and

"Experience is our teacher. When you EARN it… you LEARN it."

For Wendell, financial education is ultimately about more than stocks, options, or individual trades. It is about helping people acquire knowledge and skills they can use for the rest of their lives—and teaching them to approach investing with the same respect for preparation, risk, discipline, and responsibility that guided his professional career.
